In order to be short listed for the prestigious AV Technology’s “Best Commercial Project”, award participating companies must standout in a number of areas. These include: system design, project management, programming and installation (both automation and electrical). In addition to this we also look for companies and projects that excel in their technical expertise and utilization of emerging technologies.

To maintain and exceed the expected high standards necessary and to be considered for the award, OMC have shown what can be achieved by installing electrical and automation contracts from within one company. The level of service integration involved in the “La Corniche Project” required the project company to have extensive expertise in a number of areas. These included: electrical/lighting design and installation, automation and lighting programming and professional services co-ordination. It was also evident to us that a project of this complexity also required a project team with an excellent management structure within their organization.

In all of these areas, we felt OMC have achieved or exceeded not only their customer’s expectations regarding this project, but also set a new standard within our industry. In recognition of this, we are therefore delighted to inform you that the above project has been voted by our panel of judges as 2004 AV Technologies “Best Commercial Project for Australia and New Zealand”. The award ceremony will take place at our annual dealer conference 11th to 13th March 2005 in Adelaide, South Australia.

As the MEP contractor we naturally worked very closely with OMC on the World Trade Center Residence and I am happy to congratulate them on their exceptional performance.

OMC's engineers worked diligently to provide us with detailed working designs, conducted key instruction on their cable pulling requirements and oversaw a comprehensive QA process during the wiring phase which enabled  a seamless installation and commissioning process by their technical team.

Their impressive attention to detail meant that their system was delivered on time without defects which made our job very much easier. 

OMC teams have also carried out preventive maintenance works for the Lighting Control System, Dimming and Audio Visual Systems as well as providing after sales services and upgrades to the end users.

OMC took what is often a domestic type installation into the realms of a top quality commercial job on a project in manly. All the usual high-end features of home automation were allowed for in this luxury block of apartments, including using C-Bus as a slave system to an AMX touchscreen system to control lighting, audio, video, and security, with the infrastructure in place for each individual apartment to install additional feature.

The team from OMC also made a smart move by using mature age apprentices and providing them with specific job related training particularly in Smart Wiring and C-Bus Technology. They delivered a first class finish with a satisfied builder and has made the Top 3 Smartlist for Best Large Commercial Project at the 2005 NECA Awards of Excellence.
